NHS Entitlement

We offer the same, comprehensive, eye test whether you are paying or entitled to a free eye test on the NHS. See if you meet the criteria below

Age Related

If you are under 16 or over 60 you are entitled to a free eye test. You are also covered if you are 17 or 18 and still in full time education.

Medical History

You are also entitled to a free examination if you suffer from diabetes or glaucoma, are registered blind or partially sighted, have a “complex” prescription.

Other Medical

You’re entitled to a free test if you’re 40 or over and your parents, sibling or child have been diagnosed with glaucoma or if you have been advised by an ophthalmologist that you’re at risk of glaucoma.


You’re also entitled if you or your partner – including civil partner – receive, or you’re under the age of 20 and the dependant of someone receiving:

Income Support
Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
Universal Credit and meet the criteria
